ORDINANCE NO. 14-88
ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO CURFEW
SECTION 1: Hours of Curfew
It shall be unlawful for any child under the age of 18 year to be on the streets or other public places in the village between the hours of 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM Eastern Standard Time and 11:00 PM to 6:00 AM Eastern Daylight Time for summer. However a child below the age of 18 may be on the streets of the Village between the hours of 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM pursuant to the scope of lawful employment, or when the child is engaged in activities of Fire Department and Life Squad service and similar service activities, or when the child is in the company of his parent of legal guardian or person having the legal care, custody and control of such child.
SECTION 2: Liability of Parents
It shall be unlawful for any parent, guardian, or any other person lawfully entitle to the care, custody, and control any child under the age of 18 years to knowingly or negligently allow the child to be on the streets or in any other public place in the Village in Violation of Section 1.
SECTION 3: Penalty
(A) Whoever violates Section 1 shall be taken into the custody pf the police and turned over to the Juvenile Court to be dealt within the manner provided by the laws of the stet regarding juveniles.
(B) Whoever violates section 2 shall be fined not more than $100.00
SECTION 4:
It being necessary for the welfare of the inhabitants of the Village of Morrow, it is deemed to be an emergency and shall become effective immediately upon its passage.
